Living in the lovely scenic area of Cornwall is all very well but it is rather lacking in craft shops. I know there is the internet and it can be so easy and often cheaper to order craft stuff but sometimes you want to see what your buying, You want to see how big a die is or what the shade is of a certain paper.
So you can imagine my excitement when I saw an advert promoting Hobbycrafts latest store in my next town. I had never been to a Hobbycraft store as the nearest was over a 2 hour drive away.
The two weeks to its opening have dragged. I woke this morning like a kid on Christmas morning. But my trip to Hobbycraft didn’t come with out problems. My car is in the garage as its rather poorly and didn’t pass its MOT. So my Mum, also a crafter, offered to take me. Yipee. Well that didn’t go to plan as when she jumped in the car this morning the brakes were seized on and not budging. Plan B was actioned and the bus it was and a bit later than planned we were both happily drooling over crafts products.
It was so nice to see in the flesh many things I had only seen on the computer screen. Happily we left the store with our purchases in search of a drink and a sit down. Mum carried over the two hot chocolates and then somehow managed to knock hers all over her and mine all over me. Both cups completely empty and both of us drenched in hot chocolate We did see the funny side and dissolved into hysterics and the cafe very kindly replaced our drinks and mopped us up.
We giggled all the way to the bus stop but we must have looked a site all covered in chocolate and I suspect we smelt funny too. Such fun.
