Day 10: Have a rant; go on get it off your chest OR Craft something that has the colour purple in it
Ohh a whole post to have a rant in. There so much I could go on about.
Like when a card your making is really important something always goes wrong.
Or the most perfect ribbon, brad or button that you know you have can’t be found when you want it.
Or that when you have spent hours and hours punching something out and they are on your desk in neat colour coordinated piles and then you sneeze. You guessed it , punches everywhere. I did this a about 2 years back and still finding the punches everywhere.
Or when the kittens find the flowersoft dish on your desk and have been running around so full of carpet static. Instant flowersoft kittens. Just wish I had the foresight to keep a camera on my desk for such times.
Un-crafting rants would include teenagers, or anyone actually, who seem unable to pick their feet up and do a sort of skating shuffle. This really grates me. If your a skate shuffler please take note. It’s not attractive, it doesnt make you alluring and enigmatic to the opposite sex and only serves two purposes. It makes you staticy and gives the impression your too lazy to lift your feet 2 cms off the ground.
Or the sledge hammer subtlety that old people seem to master. I respect the fact they fought in wars, that they have more knowledge and experience than my 40+ years but at what point it did become socially ok to ask in a louder than normal voice on a summers afternoon ( when the whole street is in their gardens) if I have put on weight and what was I doing about it. If it was my Gran I could put it down to a caring nature. But when the delightful older lady in question only talks to me when she wants to know something or to tell me I haven’t mowed my lawn properly and I need to re-mow it, I know its not her caring nature coming out. And for the record I am now considered the nations average at size 14.
Or lastly, and I will try and keep this as short as I can as I am very prone to getting on my soap box on this one……the general tar brushing that single parents are the root of all the worlds problems. This subject gets me so wound up that I set up my own single mum blog ( Confessions of a single mum if you want a nosey). It appears to be my fault that the economy is the way it is, there isnt enough benefits for everyone and my children wont be very educated. I could sit here and write 1,000+ words defending myself and all the other single parents. But I wont, instead I will stop on a more positive note as I have wound myself up. As a single parent I have become more determined then ever and found a confidence I may never have found before. I have brought up two children who are very well rounded, educated as much as the next person and have caring and understanding attitudes. They know and more importantly use their manners on a daily bases . They know right from wrong and they know money doesn’t grow on trees. They know that if you want something you work for it and they value things when they do get them. They would probably be exactly the same children if I wasn’t a single parent.
Right I’ll just climb off my little soap box and will go and play with some glitter to calm me down. Now where’s those cats…..
