At last a card that isn’t an Easter card. A lovely girly pink birthday card.
- Pink card
- A5 card blank
- Sizzix framelits , oval with ornate edges
- Flower and leaf hand punch
- Cosmic shimmer glue in white
- Backing paper from PinkPetticoat
- Tim Holtz distress ink in victorian pink
- Oddment of green vellum
- Glue, foam pads, bigshot, computer
I cut the pink card just smaller than the card blank and glued to the card blank. I cut the roses backing paper from Pinkpetticoat smaller again and inked the edges with victorian velvet distressed ink and then stuck that to the pink card.
I die cut the oval with ornate edges in pink card and appiled to the card using foam pads. Using the computer I printed the rose background again but smaller and put the sentiment on top. This was die cut using the ovals and applied to a pink oval with foam pads. After sticking this inside the ornate edges oval I added white cosmic shimmer around the edges.
With the centre in place I used the white cosmic shimmer to two opposite corners in swirly patterns. This is the first time I tried it and even though it was free hand I am quiet pleased with the result. I put the card aside to dry.
With the off cuts from the backing paper and pink card I hand punched flowers. Using the green vellum oddment I cut leaves. Using an embossing tool I shaped the flowers and leaves. Using strong glue I applied them in a random pattern on the card. Lastly I added centres to the flowers using cosmic shimmer.
