My lovely elderly neighbour asked me to make a few cards for her which is lovely but she can be a bit scary ( she was a school teacher so its inbuilt I think) so I am always nervous handing her completed cards. Happily she loved them both. The Diamond Anniversary card was a bit tough to do as she left ot up to me and when I asked when colour she said ‘ Oh I don’t know, something diamondy I guess’. I found some grey paper my mother had passed my way that has a subtle mottled affect and kept it all one colour. Spellbinders for the die cutting and two different sized flower punches for the flowers. Then to finish it off tiny ‘diamond’ gems in the flower centres.
I made a card for her sister-in-laws 80th birthday last year. I distinctly remember it as it was the first card my neighbour had asked me to make. So I was a little confused she has asked for another one this year. In our coffee morning chats I have learnt she only has one sister-in-law so did brave it and ask if she was mistaken about it being an 80th birthday. Lets just say I have been put in my place and I must have been mistaken about last year.
So this years 80th birthday card is in pinks and white. I kept it simple with the a sizzix framelit ovals frame and hand punched flowers.
