Day 18 – Crafting muck ups, tell us how you got round them OR Craft something that dots
I think I have only had two crafting muck ups with cards. One was half an hour before customer was picking her card up I realised I hadn’t checked if the card opened up the right way and yep you guessed it I had made it with the fold on the wrong side. I quickly shopped off the back and remounted it onto a new card blank. The other muck up was a cat related muck up. Card all made and was a digital card with extra flowers stuck on. It was all printed ready to be put together and the cat, complete with wet paws, came rushing in and up onto the desk straight over the card. I went to re-print the digital front but I just ran out of ink in the printer. The wet paw print dried and wasnt actually noticeable. It was just that I knew it was there .
Going back a bit further there was the nerve wrecking time a brides wedding dress was due to be picked up the night before her wedding. The dress had a sort of wrap effect at the front. I had hand sewn the two leading edges but I wasnt happy with the tiny marks that showed through. When they mother of the bride arrived to pick up the dress she understood my concerns ( I can’t remember the details but they couldnt get to see the dress earlier) . As a fix I suggested I sewed beads to match those on the bodice down the front to hide the hand stitch marks. The mum had to make a decision without the bride there. Several 1000’s of beads later I crawled into bed just before it got light. I always went to either dress the brides or watch them go into the church. Waiting for the bride to get out the car was the longest time ever. I was sure she was going to be in her jeans lol.
