Tried something new today. Its a raised heart covered in flowers. Well sort of raised, next time I will add another layer I think as it not turned out as high as I hoped.
I used distressed inks on a plain peace of card and stamped the corner bits. Then I played around with two more bits of card and distress inks to make the two smaller pieces of backing cards.
For the heart I inked up a piece of card with more distress inks and punched lots of small flowers. This heart used all of an a4 piece of card. The make it raised I cut a heart shape in plain card ( next time I will use another inked piece of paper) and then cut another about a cm smaller all round. I cut 2 more reducing by a cm each time. I first tried using silicone glue but this didn’t give a firm enough base so used foam pads. With the largest heart at the bottom I added the next size with foam pads sandwiched between and kept on going till I had a pyramid affect.
The attach the flowers I covered the top heart with glue ( I used glossy accents) and then using a pokey tool I squished the pokey tool into the centre to make the petals stand out. With flower still attached to end of pokey tool I applied it the glue on the top heart. When all done I applied more glue to the next layer and continued.
The buttons are made out of paper with glossy accents to make them shiny. Gems and twine ribbon finishes it off.
This card isnt yet in the shop, if you are interested in having one made for you please get in touch.
